Held in partnership with Saint Vincent College, the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, Adelphoi, and YWCA
This event centered around the personal journey of Michaelis, a former neo-Nazi member who was deeply involved in the movement during the 1980s and ’90s. After spending eight years as a key leader in the Northern Hammerskins, an international neo-Nazi group, Michaelis underwent a transformative experience. Prompted by the acceptance and teachings of those he once targeted, he left the group and dedicated himself to seeking diversity and practicing gratitude.
Today, Michaelis serves as an educator with Serve2Unite, a global network committed to fostering peace and combating bigotry and violent extremism. The event aimed to initiate an ongoing dialogue within the community about the value of unity and the strength that diversity can bring.
